Checkers (also known as draughts) is a classic strategy game played on the dark squares of an 8x8 board. Regular pieces move diagonally forward one square, and jump over an adjacent opponent piece to capture it. Captures are mandatory: if a jump is available anywhere on the board, you must take it, and if the same piece can keep jumping, it must continue the chain. Reach the far row and your piece becomes a king, able to move and capture in every direction.
