Tower Stack: Build the Tallest Tower

Tap to drop each sliding block. Whatever hangs over the edge is sliced off. Land it perfectly to keep it wide, and see how high you can go.

No name needed for solo. Tap, click or press Space to drop.

How to play Tower Stack

1

Watch the block

A new block slides left and right above the top of your tower, bouncing off the edges.

2

Tap to drop

Tap or click anywhere in the play area, or press Space, to drop it onto the tower.

3

Lose the overhang

Any part that misses the block below is sliced off and falls away. Your tower gets narrower.

4

Go for perfect

Land almost exactly on top and the block snaps into place at full width for double points.

Rules and scoring

Every run starts with a base block in the middle of the play area. The first moving block enters from the left edge and slides to the right. When you drop it, only the part that sits on the block below stays on the tower. The rest is cut off and tumbles out of view, so the next block is exactly as wide as the piece you just kept.

If your drop is off by 4 units or less, out of a play area that is 300 units wide, it counts as a perfect drop. The block snaps exactly onto the one below and keeps its full width. If less than 6 units of the block would rest on the tower, it falls and the run is over.

Score: each block you place adds 1 point, and a perfect drop adds 2 points instead. Your height is the number of blocks you placed. Perfect drops in a row build a combo, shown as Perfect! x2, Perfect! x3 and so on.

Speed: the first block moves at 90 units per second. Every level adds 6 units per second until the speed reaches its cap of 320, so the tower starts calm and slowly turns into a real test of timing.

Tips to build a taller tower

Watch the edge, not the middle. The easiest way to time a drop is to follow the leading edge of the moving block and tap the moment it lines up with the edge of the block below. Your eyes judge a straight line much better than the center of a moving shape.

Find a rhythm. The block moves at a steady speed and bounces off both sides, so every pass takes the same amount of time at a given level. Many players count the beat in their head and tap on the count instead of reacting at the last moment.

Protect your width early. In the first twenty levels the block is slow, and every unit you lose there stays lost for the whole run. A perfect drop is the only way to stop the tower from shrinking, so spend the calm early levels chasing perfects rather than rushing.

Do not panic when the tower gets thin. A narrow block is harder to land, but it also needs less travel to line up. Slow your breathing, wait for a full pass to read the speed, then drop. There is no time limit in solo, so you can always wait for the next pass.

Play with friends online

Choose Race friends, enter your name and create a room. Share the six letter code or the invite link with up to five friends. When everyone is in, the host starts the race and all towers begin after a short countdown. Everyone gets the same blocks, the same starting point and the same speed curve, so the only difference is timing. A live scoreboard shows every tower as it grows and marks players whose tower has fallen. The host's game acts as the referee: it checks every drop with the same rules and keeps the official heights and scores, so a tower cannot be faked. In a race a block that is not dropped within 10 seconds drops by itself, so nobody can stall the game. When the last tower falls, the tallest one wins and the host can start a rematch right away.

Tower Stack FAQ

Is Tower Stack free to play?

Yes. Tower Stack is completely free and runs in your web browser on phones, tablets and computers. There is nothing to download and you do not need an account.

How do I drop a block?

Tap or click anywhere in the play area, or press the Space bar or Enter on a keyboard. Holding Space down drops only one block, so you have to press it again for the next one.

What counts as a perfect drop?

A drop is perfect when it is off by 4 units or less, in a play area that is 300 units wide. The block then snaps exactly onto the one below, keeps its full width and earns 2 points instead of 1.

When does the game end?

The run ends when less than 6 units of the moving block would rest on the tower. A tiny sliver like that cannot hold the next block, so it falls and your final height is counted.

How is the score calculated?

Each block you place adds 1 point and each perfect drop adds 2 points. Your height is simply the number of blocks you placed. Your best height and best score are saved on this device.

Does the block get faster?

Yes. The first block moves at 90 units per second and every level adds 6 units per second until it reaches 320. In a race every player gets exactly the same speed curve.

How do I race my friends?

Choose Race friends, enter your name and tap Create a room. Share the six letter room code or the invite link with up to five friends, then start the race when everyone has joined.

Who wins a race, and what if two towers are equal?

When every tower has fallen, the tallest tower wins. If two players have the same height, the higher score wins. Equal height and equal score is a tie, and the result screen says so.
