Rules and scoring
Fruit Slice is a swipe arcade game. Watermelons, oranges, apples, bananas, limes and plums are launched from below the board at different speeds and angles. Gravity pulls each one back down, so every fruit spends roughly one and a half to two seconds in the air before it drops out of sight again.
Slicing: a slice counts when your swipe passes over a fruit while you press. You do not need to cut through the middle: touching the fruit, or coming very close to its edge, is enough. Each sliced fruit adds 10 points.
Combos: a swipe lasts from the moment you press until you lift your finger or mouse button, or until you hold still for more than 250 milliseconds. Slice three or more fruit in the same swipe and every fruit after the second adds a 10 point bonus. Three fruit gives COMBO x3 +10, four fruit gives COMBO x4 +20, five fruit gives COMBO x5 +30.
Bombs: in Classic and Arcade, slicing a bomb ends the run straight away. In a race the bomb takes 50 points from your score, never below zero, and the race goes on.
Modes
| Mode | How it works |
|---|---|
| Classic | Three lives and no clock. Each fruit that falls away unsliced costs a life. Fruit and bombs come faster as your score climbs. |
| Arcade | A 60 second sprint. A new throw every 0.78 seconds, sometimes a burst of 2 to 4 fruit. Missed fruit cost nothing. |
| Race | Two players, 60 seconds, the exact same fruit. A bomb costs 50 points. The higher score wins. |
| Tie | Equal scores at the end of a race are a tie. |

Tips to slice more fruit
Wait for the top of the arc. A fruit moves fastest right after it is thrown and slowest at the highest point of its flight. If you swipe as fruit reach the top, several of them hang in the air close together, which makes them easy to catch in one long stroke.
Plan long swipes for combos. A single swipe that crosses three fruit is worth 40 points instead of 30, and four fruit in one swipe is worth 60 instead of 40. Keep your finger down and draw a smooth curve through a group rather than tapping at each fruit on its own.
Keep moving. A pause longer than a quarter of a second starts a new swipe and resets your combo count. If you want to wait for the next group, lift your finger and press again.
Read the bombs first. Before you swipe, find the black bombs with the red ring and plan a path around them. In Classic it is usually better to let one fruit fall and lose a life than to risk a swipe that brushes a bomb and ends the run.
Use both hands on a phone or tablet. Every finger draws its own blade, so you can cover the left and the right side of the board at the same time when fruit is spread out.
Race a friend online
Tap Race a friend, enter your name and share the six letter code or the invite link. Your friend joins from their own phone, tablet or computer. When the host starts the race, a short countdown runs and then both of you get exactly the same fruit and bombs at exactly the same moments for 60 seconds. You slice on your own board and see your friend's score live in the header and in the race panel.
The host's game is the referee. It replays every slice your friend reports against the same fruit, checks that the fruit was really there and still whole, and keeps the official scores, so a race result cannot be faked. When the clock runs out the higher score wins, and equal scores are a tie. The host can start a rematch straight away or go back to the room.
Why play a fruit slicing game?
Fruit Slice is easy to learn in a few seconds and fun for short breaks. Swiping across fast moving targets trains hand and eye coordination, quick decisions and focus, and every round ends with a clear score to beat. It works on touch screens and with a mouse, needs no download or sign up, and the race mode turns a solo high score chase into a friendly duel.
Fruit Slice FAQ
Is Fruit Slice free to play?
Yes. Fruit Slice is completely free and runs in your web browser on phones, tablets and computers. There is nothing to download and you do not need an account.
How do I slice fruit?
Press and drag your finger or mouse across a fruit while it flies through the air. Any fruit your swipe touches is cut in two and gives you 10 points. On a touch screen you can swipe with more than one finger at the same time.
How does a combo work?
A combo is three or more fruit cut in one continuous swipe. A swipe lasts from the moment you press until you lift your finger, or until you hold still for more than a quarter of a second. The third fruit adds a 10 point bonus, the fourth adds 10 more, and so on, shown as COMBO x3 +10, COMBO x4 +20 and higher.
What happens if I hit a bomb?
In Classic and Arcade a bomb ends your run at once, so swipe around the black bombs with the red ring. In a race with a friend a bomb does not end the game. It costs you 50 points instead, and your score never drops below zero.
What is the difference between Classic and Arcade?
Classic has no clock. You get three lives, every fruit that falls off the screen without being sliced costs one, and fruit and bombs appear faster as your score grows. Arcade is a 60 second sprint with a steady flow of fruit where only the clock and the bombs can stop you.
How do I race a friend online?
Tap Race a friend, enter your name and share the six letter room code or the invite link. When your friend joins, the host starts a 60 second race. Both of you get exactly the same fruit at the same moments, so the better slicer wins.
Can I pause the game?
Yes, in Classic and Arcade. Tap the pause button or press Space or Escape, and the game also pauses by itself when you switch tabs. A race cannot be paused, because both players play on the same clock.
Is my best score saved?
Your best Classic score and best Arcade score are saved in your browser on this device. They are not uploaded anywhere, so clearing your browser data resets them.
