4

Play trivia online with friends or on your own

Trivia Battle is a free online trivia game where speed matters as much as knowledge. Everyone sees the same question and the same four answers at the same moment, and the quicker you pick the right one, the more points you score. It is a simple way to run a quiz night, settle a friendly argument or just test what you know during a short break.

The question bank covers Geography, Movies and TV, Science, Sports, Music, History, Food and Drink, Technology and Gaming. Choose a single category if you have a favourite subject, or pick Mixed to get questions from every topic in one round.

Rules and scoring

A correct answer earns 200 points plus a speed bonus of up to 800 points. The bonus shrinks as the timer runs down, so an instant correct answer is worth close to 1,000 points while a last second answer is worth a little over 200. A wrong answer or no answer scores nothing and does not take points away.

Streaks pay off. From your third correct answer in a row, every correct answer is multiplied by 1.5 until you miss one. The final question counts double, and the multiplier stacks with your streak. When the last question is done, the player with the most points wins and the top three appear on the podium.

Solo and multiplayer modes

Solo practice lets you choose a category, 5, 10 or 15 questions and Easy, Mixed or Hard difficulty. You get 15 seconds per question, which makes it a good way to warm up before playing against other people.

Multiplayer rooms hold up to 8 players. The host creates the room, shares the six character code and sets the player limit, number of questions, difficulty, time per question (10 to 30 seconds) and category. Players can join from a phone, tablet or computer, and everyone plays the same questions in the same order. New players can join while the room is in the lobby, before the quiz starts.

Tips to score higher

  • Read the question first, then scan all four answers once. A quick wrong guess earns nothing, so take a moment when you are unsure.
  • Rule out answers you know are wrong. Picking between two options is much easier than picking between four.
  • Protect your streak. The 1.5 times bonus only starts after two correct answers in a row, so a careless miss costs more than one question.
  • Save a little energy for the end. The double points final question is worth up to 3,000 points with a streak.
  • Practice weak categories in solo mode before your next game night.

Type your name, tap Create room and share the six character room code. Your friends enter the code under Join a room, and the host presses Start quiz once everyone is in the lobby.

How many players can join one game?

A room holds up to 8 players, including the host. The host can set the limit to 2, 3, 4, 6 or 8 players in the lobby settings before the quiz starts.

How are points scored in Trivia Battle?

A correct answer is worth 200 points plus a speed bonus of up to 800 points, so faster answers score more. From your third correct answer in a row you earn 1.5 times the points, and the final question counts double.

Can I play trivia alone?

Yes. Choose Play solo to practice on your own. Pick a category, the number of questions and a difficulty level, then try to beat your own score.

What happens if a player leaves during a game?

The game carries on for everyone else. The player is removed from the scoreboard, and if someone stops answering, the round still ends when the timer runs out. If the host leaves, the other players are sent back to the menu.

Yes. The game runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, and players on different devices can share the same room.
